Safe Blood Start from the World's Highest Altitude
May 29, 2009. Blood Donors' Association Nepal and NRCS, Central blood Transfusion Service in co-ordination with NRCS, Namche Sub-Chapter jointly organized World's First Blood Donation at Highest Altitude Base of the Mt. Everest (Chour Camp, Namche Bazar, Solukhumbu, Nepal) on the grand occasion of World Everest day 2009 and World Blood Donor day 2009. This program had successfully completed.
National and International blood donors and people were participated in this program. More than 150 people were pre-health check-up for blood donation and 48 people had donated blood. Mr. Gyanu Raja Maharjan, co-ordinator of this blood donation program, he is a first donor of the highest Altitude Base of the World, and he had donated 19 times. The Chief Guest, Mr. Sonam Gyalzen Sherpa (chirman Buffer Zone-SNP), Guest, Major Mr. Sushil Kumar Karki, Warden-SNP Mr. Ram Chandra, Mrs. Dolma Tshering Sherpa, Nepal Army personnel, Nepal Police Personnel, Namche Local people, Trekkers, doctors had donated blood in this program. German Ambassador, Grand Daughter of Adman Hilary, Mr. Bikram pandey, officers of NTB, NSC, Mr. Lamakaji Sherpa, Namche Youth Group and different organizations were participated in this program.
Now this program is processing in the Guinness World Record. They had sent the claim no. 264879 and just remaining the official letter and agreement.
